How a Winter Ski Business Generated 712 Leads in One Season

Making the experience visible, reducing booking friction, and building a stronger path from discovery to enquiry.

  • Industry: Winter ski activities
  • Starting point: Almost no leads
  • Primary CTA fix: WhatsApp, not booking
  • 2025–2026 season: 712 leads

The starting point

A great experience nobody could see

This winter ski activities business had a familiar problem: lead volume was very low, and the few enquiries that did arrive rarely converted. The audit's first finding was simple: the business had almost no active presence on social media.

For most businesses that's a gap. For an experience business, it was the whole problem. Booking a ski activity isn't like buying a product. It's booking an experience, on vacation, with people you've never met. Before handing over money, travellers want to answer one question: is the vibe right? Who's teaching them, what the energy is like, what the environment actually looks like. And the place people go to check that isn't a website. It's Instagram Reels.

The challenge

Asking for commitment before earning trust

The second issue was the booking flow itself. The website pushed the booking page as the main call to action everywhere. But asking a hesitant visitor to commit before a single question had been answered made them more hesitant, not less.

Two problems, one root cause: the business was invisible where travellers evaluate experiences, and the website demanded a decision before building any confidence.

  • No social proof of the experience: no Reels showing the actual slopes, instructors, or atmosphere.
  • High-friction CTA: "book now" as the primary action, with no low-commitment way to ask a question first.
  • Weak discoverability: limited search visibility for travellers researching ski activities.
The strategy

Show the experience. Lower the barrier. Be findable.

The strategy addressed each problem directly: making the experience tangible, removing friction from the first step, and building visibility where travellers search:

  • Experience-led Reels showing the actual experience and the real team: the slopes, the instruction, the atmosphere travellers were trying to evaluate.
  • WhatsApp as the primary CTA instead of forcing an immediate booking. A low-friction channel where hesitant visitors could ask questions first.
  • Website copy improvements to answer traveller questions clearly and build confidence before any commitment.
  • SEO to build organic visibility for ski-activity searches over time.
  • Google Ads to capture travellers actively searching with intent during the season.
Implementation

From invisible to impossible to ignore

Content production focused on authenticity over polish: real instructors, real conditions, real guests. The Reels gave travellers the "vibe check" they'd been looking for. The thing a website alone could never deliver.

At the same time, the website's conversion path was reworked. WhatsApp replaced the booking page as the primary call to action, so a curious visitor's first step was a conversation, not a commitment. Copy was rewritten around the questions travellers actually ask. SEO groundwork and Google Ads then ensured the business showed up when travellers searched.

The results

712 leads in the 2025–2026 season

712 leads

Generated during the 2025–2026 winter season, from a starting point of almost no leads.

A note on attribution: the 712 leads came through the combined system: Reels, WhatsApp enquiries, website, SEO and Google Ads working together. We don't attribute all leads to a single channel, because the data doesn't support that claim.

SEO performance

Search visibility, measured

As part of the engagement, organic search visibility was tracked in Google Search Console. The screenshot below shows the property's search performance for the displayed custom date range:

Google Search Console performance report showing 539 total clicks, 62.9K total impressions, 0.9% average CTR and average position 14
Google Search Console: Performance report (Search type: Web). Figures shown: 539 total clicks, 62.9K total impressions, 0.9% average CTR, average position 14 for the displayed custom date range. These search-performance figures are distinct from the 712 leads reported for the 2025–2026 season.

The data shows growing search exposure (62.9K impressions) with an average position of 14 (page-two territory), indicating visibility was building but still had significant headroom. This is consistent with SEO as a compounding, long-term channel rather than an overnight fix, which is exactly how it was positioned to the client.

The takeaway

For experience businesses, travellers buy the vibe before they buy the booking. Making the experience tangible (through real Reels, real people, real conditions) and giving hesitant visitors a low-friction way to start a conversation (like WhatsApp) can rebuild the entire path from discovery to enquiry. Visibility gets you found; removing friction gets you chosen.
